Disgusting. And guess what: me and my friend (both of us trans men) had a pretty similarly fucking horrible experience too. Long Island’s cissexism and transphobia is almost unfathomable.

I was like, almost blackout drunk so I don’t remember all of this but I’ve got it in bits and pieces and my friend (who is also trans) remembered all of it. I’m not gonna rehash the whole story but we were talking to some people who misgendered us, and when we tried to correct them, we were both repeatedly called chicks, over and over (it’s not my fault, you look like chicks! what don’t get offended, you just look like chicks I thought you were chicks!) and then this dude groped me trying to see if I had a dick and then later on grabbed me and felt up my back to see if I was binding, and then loudly made fun of me for doing so, and the whole group insulted/made fun of us because “they’re not guys, their dicks are plastic, mine’s attached, you don’t got a real dick, lalalala”. I was also misgendered by about every single other person I interacted with but that’s to be expected, but I’m a little bit over the rude stares and blatant “what the fuck” confusion they stare at me with after one of my friends corrects them. I am disgusted and ashamed, and want no part of the LGB community until they get their shit together. Long Island, you are the WORST. 

I’m also so grateful that I was a bottle and a half of wine deep when this interaction happened because I could essentially do nothing but stare and mumble “well that’s rude” and ask Billy to leave…I’m sincerely worried for what happens next time some motherfucker puts his hands on me to see if I’m a “real man” and I’m in my right mind enough to let 5 years of built up violent queer rage work it’s magic.

And this is why it’s good that I can’t concealed carry in bars.
